Where do I begin with this book… I picked this book up from a local store in July because the synopsis and beautiful cover lured me in and WOW I’m still reeling from how much I loved it! I went into this book completely blind, no recommendations, no buzz from Booktok or Bookstagram, and honestly, I’m shocked this isn’t trending everywhere! From the very first page to the very last, this book had me absolutely HOOKED.

If you’re sitting there thinking you don’t need a tennis romance in your life this summer, think again. This is the one you’ve been waiting for, even if you didn’t know it. The perfect blend between sports and non-sports moments is just perfection. Even if you’re not a tennis fan (I hold my hands up and admit I’m an occasional Wimbledon watcher), you’ll find the writing for the tennis scenes were incredibly easy to follow and totally engaging.

But what really stole my heart were the characters. I was so incredibly invested in their journey that I couldn’t put this book down for a moment. And those last few chapters? I was an EMOTIONAL WRECK (in the best possible way). This book had me smiling, laughing, in awe, and crying my eyes out. I didn’t want it to end, I was genuinely sad to say goodbye to these characters. I wish I could go back and experience the magic of reading this book for the first time all over again!

Match Point is a gem and I couldn’t recommend it enough, my only fault would be how the enemies to lovers went a little quick, but it didn’t impact the flow of the book nor how much I ended up loving this spontaneous read! 5 stars, no question.

HOCKEY ROMANCES ARE MY NEW OBSESSION??!!!

this book is SO SO GOOD. it’s a perfect blend of sweet, cute, spice, and plot twists which make you do a double take throughout. 10/10 would recommend!

one of the best books I have read so far, I’ve been desperate to read a good sports romance book/a book in general to get me out of my slump and this was the perfect one to pick up! I have already grabbed a copy of Wildfire (the next in the maple hills series) and cannot wait to start reading it (once this uni semester is over 🙄)

the romance was TOP TIER. it was perfect: a figure skater and an ice hockey captain who is one of, if not THE BEST, book boyfriends I have ever read. i really enjoyed how they were enemies/friends for a large amount of time before they became lovers, one of my FAVE TROPES. my heart has MELTED.

there were many ups and downs, but you can’t help follow along with the characters and feel everything they’re feeling, and what makes it so much better? IT’S DUAL POV. it had so much depth and characterisation, it was incredible all the way through. the book had multiple of my fave tropes (grumpy x sunshine, enemies to friends to lovers, he falls first, etc.) and all of them had me gripping onto the book, turning each page, not being able to put it down for a single second. the more I read the more I ADORED it.

this definitely gave me all the feels. the forehead kisses, the way she calls him “bub”, Nathan being protective, randomly tucking Anastasia’s hair behind her ear. URGH. MY HEART. Nate Hawkins you are the most loving, caring and kind character. WHERE CAN I GET MYSELF A NATE HAWKINS?!?!

this truly is the best sports/college romance book I have read, and considering it was the author’s debut novel? MIND BLOWING.

on a side note: APPRECIATION FOR HENRY WHAT A GENTLEMAN HE IS!!
