Hockey Romances Are My New Obsession?!

This book is so good! It’s the perfect blend of sweet, fun, and spicy, with just the right amount of plot twists to keep you hooked. I would highly recommend it for a quick and engaging read.

I have to admit, I was nervous that this book wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but I was proven completely wrong! It’s easily one of the best books I’ve read in a while. I’ve been desperate for a great sports romance (or just any book) to pull me out of my reading slump, and Icebreaker did that flawlessly. I’m already looking forward to reading the rest of the series and spending more time with these characters I’ve grown to love. In fact, I’ve already got a copy of Wildfire (the next book in the Maple Hill series) lined up, just waiting for this Uni semester to be over so I can properly enjoy it (these deadlines are brutal).

Now, let’s talk about the romance, because wow. A figure skater and an ice hockey captain? Absolutely perfect. And Nate Hawkins? Easily one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever read. I loved how the relationship developed over time, from enemies to friends to lovers—one of my all-time favourite tropes. My heart completely melted.

The story had its fair share of ups and downs, but it was impossible not to get swept up in the emotions alongside the characters. And what made it even better? It’s written in dual POV, which added so much depth and made the character development even more compelling. Plus, it included some of my favourite tropes: grumpy x sunshine, enemies to lovers, he falls first, and every single one was executed beautifully. I couldn’t put this book down for a second.

This book truly gave me all the feels. The forehead kisses, the way she calls him “bub,” Nathan’s protectiveness, those small affectionate gestures like tucking her hair behind her ear... perfection. Nate Hawkins, you are officially the most loving, caring, and kind character. Where can I get a Nate Hawkins?! And let’s not forget Henry—what a gentleman! I cannot wait for his book.

Overall, this was an incredible read, and I’m beyond excited to see what Hannah Grace writes next!

Final Thoughts?

There's no doubt about it, this book got 5 out of 5 stars!
